You already have the recording: a podcast, interview, webinar or product video. An AI clipping tool can find and cut moments from that existing video, but no tool can promise those clips will go viral.
Clipping an existing video is not AI video generation
A clipping tool works from footage you already have. It identifies potential excerpts and turns them into shorter clips for you to review. That is different from asking an AI to generate a new video from a written prompt. ChatGPT can help you plan an edit or assess moments from a transcript, but the clipping step needs a tool that processes the video itself.
Think of “viral-ready” as a starting point for your editorial review, not a prediction of views. A strong clip still needs a clear idea, enough context to make sense, and a reason for someone to keep watching.
Create viral clipsDo it on your video, here.Start with your file, then let Klipa find excerpts
Choose a video stored on your computer or phone, open Klipa’s AI clips tool in a browser, select the file from your device and start the clipping process. Klipa runs in the browser, so there is nothing to install. It accepts 3gp, avi, flv, mkv, mov, mp4, webm and wmv files.
Production data from September 11 to October 11, 2026, records 523 successful tasks and a 93.4% success rate. The median input video was 267.0 seconds long, and median processing time was 127 seconds. These are observed aggregates, not a time estimate or guaranteed outcome for your particular video. Once the clips are ready, review them before publishing. If you want to organize several excerpts into a sequence, see this guide to turning one long video into a Shorts series.
Check the context, opening and ending of every clip
First, check whether the excerpt preserves the point being made. A sentence can sound compelling on its own and still misrepresent the speaker if the answer, qualification or question that gives it meaning has been cut off. Watch the clip without relying on what you remember from the full recording.
Next, ask whether a new viewer can understand the moment without a long setup. The opening should give them a reason to stay, and the ending should feel complete rather than stopping mid-thought. If a clip needs a small trim to make its point clearer, make that decision editorially. For a more detailed way to judge which AI-selected moments are worth keeping, use this guide to evaluating promising clips.
Choose clips for the platform and export you need
For YouTube or Instagram, choose excerpts that suit the way you want to present the idea on that platform. A self-contained answer, a short demonstration or one strong exchange may work better than a clip that only makes sense after watching the full recording. Check the result in context before posting; the clipping tool does not guarantee a platform-specific format or performance. If your goal is a sequence of YouTube Shorts episodes, this YouTube Shorts series guide develops that use case.
You can make a free export with Klipa, which includes a small Klipa logo. A one-off Pass or subscription lets you export without the logo and at a higher resolution when the original video supports it. Choose the export that fits your publishing needs, then watch the final file once more to confirm its context and ending.
Treat AI-selected excerpts as candidates, not finished editorial decisions. Start with the video you already have, check each clip for clarity and context, then break your video into clips and choose the export that suits your next post.
